Don't Look Too Close. Poem by DEAN WILLIAM JOHNSTON

Don't Look Too Close.

When we look at one another
We see what we want to see
The flowers. the sun set
A beautiful woman. but
Don't look too close or
You see more than you want
Do. Like the beautiful woman
Aged. a flower fadingtoo
quickly.Look all you want
But, don't look too closely! !

This poem makes me think of the sayings, be careful what you wish for, or don't ask a question if you are not ready for the answer. People aren't always as prepared for life as they would like to think they are. Good writing.
