Don't Make Me Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Don't Make Me

Rating: 3.5

Don't make me

I have passed by that mosque
Not once that many times
To me was a building
Home to thoughts
And beliefs…

With no harm…

You approached with signs of
Hatred and disregard
Shouted words…

I am shy but must talk:
-hey racist you are like
-ancestors and parents
-they came in with force, guns
-destroyed, changed race, faith
-established their own laws
-molested the owners
-insulted, called them names
-squaws and monkeys
-now you are afraid since
-you know you deserve it
-seclusion, concealment
-behind bars and in cell
-if not killed by bullet

I have been and love to
Remain calm and neutral
So please don't make me
To take side, raise my voice
Or further, holding gun.

Go please and rethink
Freedom has limit
Free yes but to point
Where others are free
I fulfilled duty
Hope you heard…

You got it?
