Don't Poem by Ellen Rose Guilaran

Don't

Said don't make me laugh
But your balanced proposition
Attracts someone like me
Don't waste my time, pleasr
I'm begging you
Time wont stop for anyone
But I'd stop it for you

Jumping with the delicate high
Of pleasure I didn't know
I ever, ever, ever knew
Before I even met you
Sorry? Did you come to teach me a lesson

God, why do you punish me like this?
Sending me these men of peripheral likeness
Your name, their name, everything is about you oh Lord
Why do you keep torturing me like this?
Are the best ones on your side of the view?

I never wanted bad guys anyway, but they like it
How they try to lure me with empty words and bravado
So I never understood
Why I am that woman who can't be held down
And never will beholden
By any man,
unless..
That man will love me
for the rest of my life

Don't
