Don't Give Me A Chase Poem by Sumita Jetley

Don't Give Me A Chase

In Lahore's embrace, where whispers dwell,
Ayesha walks, her story to tell.
In suit salwar, grace personified,
To the dargah, her soul's guide.

The shrine, a haven of peace profound,
Where pigeons feast, and roses surround.
She prays for all, in whispered pleas,
Her voice, a breeze, amongst the trees.

The world outside, with its vibrant din,
Fades away, as she looks within.
In solitude, amidst the crowd,
Her prayer, a whisper, soft yet loud.

For bliss, she asks, not just for one,
But for all under the sun.
In the garden, where Eden blooms,
Her spirit dances, dispels the glooms.

A Sufi's heart, in Lahore's fold,
Whispers of love, brave and bold.
Her prayer, a ripple in the divine,
A hope that in darkness, light will shine.
