Double Vision Poem by grace mariner

Double Vision

What a hypocrite you are!
Taking the treasures to worship a God you don't believe exists.
Preaching morality while being serially unfaithful to your spouse.
Bashing your own for inflicting pain on innocents.
Excuse me, but weren't you a famous leg breaker?
I could have sworn it was true.
But then again, when you've told so many versions of
your story, it is difficult to keep them straight.
You show the world one face,
while you hide the other.
You are the most dangerous of your kind...
flawed and appealing,
evil and seductive.
I wonder whose reflection you see in the looking glass?
The saintly shaman,
or the horrific demon.
After all, each of us has some of both.
But with you my monster, I fear it is more one than the other.
We are more horrifying when we believe our own lies.
