Doubt - Poem by Brittany Tartaglia

I can not sleep
with music, without
I can not sleep
so full of doubt

I can not hear
the sweet birds song
I only hear
the black crows caw

To see you look
into my eyes
with nothing but
those sour old lies

The lame excuses
you always use
the ones that put me
deep into the blues

I can not sleep
with music, without
I can not sleep
when you're about

You make me sick
when I see those fears
of being stuck
with you for years

When you're all I hear
and all I say
I only want you
to go away

I can not hear
the sweet birds song
cuz all I hear
is you moaning along

You moan to the rythm
of the breaths you take
the deep long breaths
don't help me escape

Cuz all I want
is to be away from you
run and hide
just out of view

I can not sleep
with music, without
I just sit here
surrounded by doubt
