Doubt Poem by David Byer

Doubt

Rating: 5.0

How do I describe my God,
where do I even start?
Where do you begin with One,
who Is and Wert and Art?

How do you put the great I AM,
on a single sheet of paper?
To comprehend your wonder of
the One who can heal a leper?

How can I make connections,
to the universe’s creator?
Or learn to know the One,
who sees my very center?

He’s the Alpha and Omega,
the first and very last.
The One who holds my future,
and forgives my troubled past.

To know thee is to Love thee,
but that’s where my problem lies.
I have trouble believing,
what’s hidden from my eyes.

This pain inside me questions,
when bad befalls the good.
And forgiveness rarely follows hurt,
even though I’m told I should.

Like Peter’s thrice denials,
I often turn my back.
But I wonder at the wonders used,
to get me back on track.

Faith and Love and Hope and Trials,
are used to build me up.
But my doubts of self still linger,
when they pass me His cup.

How do I describe my God,
where do I even start?
He probably asks the same of me,
knowing how I break his heart.

No one can describe God, we can only point out very few of HIS attributes. I believe that GOD'S essence is beyond the levels of our three dimensional comprehension. We believe in the existence of God by Faith, and Faith shall keep those that keep the Faith. A beautiful poem written with spiritual insight. Thanks for sharing.
