Doubts Poem by Jenny Bevan

Doubts

Fearful images of him saying goodbye
flash like lightning so difficult to ignore
and the panic froma love filled heart begins to rise.
serpents coil around you whispering deceitful lies
'he hates you! ', 'he'll leave you! ', ' nothing is forever! '
they grow louder and stronger till you fear they speak true
but no you hear the soft words i love you far above this nosie
spoken by the one who holds you close and keeps you safe
he takes your hand, your doubts melt away
and the serpents have grip no more.
