Jenny Bevan Poems

Promise me you'll be there
Rescue me from these shadows
Of sorror, of pain, of misery
Many times I have trusted faithfully
...

What do you see when you look at me?
I often wonder what on earth it could be
Do you still see the new girl on the street?
Who was scared of the new people she’d have to meet
...

Open your eyes!
i can't be stong all the time
deep inside i've become a mime
it won't be a 'happily ever after' story
...

They hunt you in the dead of night
Always searching never resting
With their voices cruel and chilling
They scream, 'I will get you! ' as they fly.
...

Fingers entwined, Joined hand in hand
In a lovers embrace they stand
To be together forever that is their will
Praying and wishing time would stay still
...

How does a person describe a feeling so rare
There are no words to tell it truthfully
It is like the waves of a calm, peaceful sea
Its voice quiet and seductive
...

Alone in my room i sit silently in dispare
trying to make sense of what i did to deserve this.
The hurtful words echo round and round
as bitter tears fall from my eyes.
...

High are the red burning flames
fanned by the constant irritations of
the idiotic people that surround me.
Even the slightest sound of their voices
...

Secrets hidden deep within the heart
Each one cept safely, each one cept silently
Cept from the knowledge of others
Returning only to the mind of their creator
...

10.

Lust fills the soul every time you meet
Oh how you long to feel that affection being returned
Very gently you fall deeper and deeper
Easily spellbound by this strong emotion.
...

Like a falling star
she shone for a moment
as the glittering stream roled by.
The gentle light from the glowing moon
...

12.

Fearful images of him saying goodbye
flash like lightning so difficult to ignore
and the panic froma love filled heart begins to rise.
serpents coil around you whispering deceitful lies
...

still this worrying feeling
like a storm deep inside
continues to make me wonder
am i what you desire?
...

why am i crying?
i know that you love me
i know you'd not hurt me
and yet my tears fall.
...

16.

Here, in the quiet of my room
i lie awake thinking of the day gone by.
It wasn't a good day
it wasn't a nice day
...

The effort some one makes for the person they love
is time consuming, hard work and often expensive
they have to think like their love
'what would they like? ', 'what would they choose? '
...

what will become of these hands?
when the pale peachyness of life has left them.
will they be left cold and discoloured?
forgotten and alone.
...

19.

A warning in the mind
a suspicion in the soul
a doubt in the heart
cold and consuming

Promise

Promise me you'll be there
Rescue me from these shadows
Of sorror, of pain, of misery
Many times I have trusted faithfully
Injured as each person let me down
Still I have a small hope
Eventually I will hurt no more.

Promise me you'll always be true
Refuse the lies that are so easily told
Openly and honestly tell me what you will
Make no mistake I will not judge you
I will respect you for your honesty
Smile when ever you express your self
Every time it fills me with pride.

Promise me you'll come back to me
Return to my waiting arms
Oh how i love to be in your company
My affection for you grows daily
I long to feel the warmth of you embrace once more
Surrounded by your passion
Encased by your love.
