Down The Wooden Path Of Life Poem by Rik Bertrand

Down The Wooden Path Of Life

The path of life is not always straight and narrow,
But when it is, you can see the obstacles coming.
Knowing what lies ahead can determine your course,
And with this knowledge you can take on life running.

The path of life; if only it were so simple,
If only the obstacles were but small trees.
But we know from experience, oh so true,
That going down this path is not a breeze.

Picture life's path a wooden walkway,
With railings of support on either side.
The Railing there, are you best friends,
Supporting you when life's denied.

Sometimes the wood of the path is rotten through,
And moving forward can be hampered so.
But caution to the wind, is sometimes needed
So that you can live and grow, of this I know.
REB (JUNE 2012) Life's path can be seen in many forms
