Dream Poem by Avery Baron Tomasco

Dream

asleep, aloft, flying through the abyss. a soft kiss, so bliss yet sweet, amidst the heat, the pasion, a stray action, inevidable interaction, on the border of love, but then a swing, forced onto another wing. down to hell, the gates to an endless well. a shot, a stab, you try to grab for hope on hate's slippery slope, sliding to your death, your last breath cut short, you cry for the lord, but your cries are unheard. so far from the real, yet to far to feel. but thats the deal, nothing at stake, its all fake. put to sleep by the hate, undecided fate, tugging and grinding at life, dont put me through the strife. all i need is a little break, just let me think.
give me some slack, time to dry on the rack, just enough time to undo the crime, the pain, the day slain by the rain, the drugs, the thugs, all of them gone, all thrown away. but only for a while, put in a pile away from now, away from here, its finally so clear.
the light shows, the new day grows. time to plant my seed, a tree that fits my need, the branches of my life, the leaves of my love, nourtured by the light of the day. lets start out right, create a new beginning, another chance, all over again. oh my friend, its been a ride, but its all done, the night is gone, lets seize the day, lets play by our way, dont live the past, its been thrown away with the dreams the night hath cast.
