DREAM?

I saw the sun today
it had been a while
it had been away
I asked it 'Are you planning to stay'?
I got no answer
it had nothing to say
it silently slid
behind a cloud
and left me standing
in its shroud

I felt the morning rain
it was so alone
it was so in pain
I questioned each drop
to please explain
no reply was given
to my plaintive refrain
it crackled and splattered upon the ground
and that my friend was the only sound

I awoke myself
from this nightmare scheme
I know I yelled
but there was no scream
I looked
but nothing could be seen

Then I remembered
it was just a dream
And as I lay myself back onto the bed
I felt the rain drop from my head
