When sadness and heartbreak
strike deeply in your heart
Nobody can say a magic word
to make it part
or wish is away

But they can hold your hand
and let you know they care

When you've trusted others
and they've hurt you
way down inside
you can't suddenly feel safe
or trust enough to confide

But a friend can be patient
and stand by your side

When you stumble and fall
and when the rest of the world turns
it hurts and burns
and we push others away
hurtfully sometimes

But one might stay
and dream for you a sunny day

I guess what I'm saying
is that I'm someone broken
No matter what I speak
there are many hurts unspoken

but my heart is what it is
and was aways striving for good
Always tried to do more than it could
But it might yet be something to someone
I wish somehow it could

If I had the heart to say to you
what I really feel
I wonder if you would show me love and caring
something lasting and real

Or if you cared could I follow your call
Becasue right now the world feels so pressing
and I feel so abandoned and so small
I've lost much it seems yet I know not all

I know I'd never tire of your smile
Never tire of your hand touching mine
Never tire of seeing you asleep
Our hearts beating together in time

You'll think this is just a line
but if our new world could begin tomorrow
or for certain before the end of time
Would you take my hand?
would you be mine?
