Dream After A Nightmare Poem by Shaista Amin

Dream After A Nightmare

It was a long night
A scary and dark night
I was chased by a ghost
In the woods, in the frost
He crumbled my body down
And crushed my precious crown
He sealed my lips and hands
And left me alone in far lands
I could not cry, I could not weep
I could not dream, I could not sleep
But!
Every evil do has an end
A frightening and terrible end
Far away from the woods
Came an angel with swords
Bumped off the evil ghost
And let me free from the frost
I was all free to sleep
On the plains and steep
I could think I could dream
Of an angel and his gleam
I could sing I could go
On clouds and above
I could float with an ease
In the air full of breeze
I could shine I could glow
I could let my body flow
In the pure ocean of love
In the future and of now
