Dream Land Poem by Dale Totten

Dream Land

Drifting, drifting, slowly drifting,
going, going, gone.
To places that my mind will travel,
where at times I don't belong.

Places with castles, dungeons, or jungles.
Places with love, hate, and war.
Places I'm flying, fleeing, dying.
Places I don't want to return no more.

Places where I know my surroundings,
but yet I somehow feel lost.
Places where I have longed to travel,
but could never afford the cost.

Where will I go tonight,
what determines my destination.
Will I know the people there,
or maybe start some new relation.

Will I travel in vivid color,
with hues not seen by eyes before.
Or will it seem I'm in a Bogart film,
in black and white nothing more.

Will I have total recall,
or just bits and pieces I don't understand.
Whatever shall be, take me there,
back to the place I call dream land.
