Dreaming Poem by James Meaney

Dreaming

This girl never sleeps
making her miserable
thinking shes unaware of things
And I cant help her
So I say
Doors don't open
Rivers run dry
Mountains turn in circles
No one knows why
she thinks I have power
that she doesn't have
bringing out the bad humor
when she feels trapped
trapped in reality
I drift to the other-side
she stays at the threshold
not dreaming; Eyes wide
A dream is a piece of writing
that she cant write
different from the world
while people laugh at night.
