Dreams Poem by Brittany Goldsmith

Dreams

Rating: 4.8

Dream world, why must you be so cruel?
You take advantage of me, a tired fool.
Every night, when I drift away,
You show me a life worthy of broadway.
While asleep, you coerce images in my head.
So when I awake, I feel entirely misled.
If this torture is something you wish to pursue,
Could you make some of my dreams come true?

“Analyzing Dreams” What are dreams but things we want And think that they will do themselves; If dreams do not come true it seems Those dreams were hindered by ourselves. Dreams asleep and dreams awake Two different things we might mistake; For dreams asleep we can’t pursue But dreams awake are things to do. One cannot afford to dream And be aware of its existence For a dream is not a dream If it’s not followed by persistence. Dreams conjured by the subconscious Are nothing but forgotten options; For dreams are dreams with much ado Will they come true? That’s up to you. Dreamers are dreamers somebody should teach them The thing about dreams, what to do when you reach them. P.X 12.18.2013
