Dreams And Nightmares Poem by Jennifer Rose

Dreams And Nightmares

The Dream always turns into a Nightmare
No matter what I do
I just want to keep living my Dream
Instead of waking up to a Nightmare
So much is going on behind closed doors
I prefer it that way, so my Dream stays
Everytime the door opens
Blackening wirling tendrils overcome my existence
The Nightmare has returned
Before it was only haunting my Dream world
Now it comes at me
Seething with hatred and power
The tears stream down
My vocal cords snap
I'm drowning as my fingers stretch up
Will no one pull me out of it
From the terrible haunting Nightmare
My esixtence is pulled deeper into it
Nighmares keep replaying
I try to close the door
Everyone is staring
'Just honor me this once.'
We all know the Dream doesn't last long
We all will wake to the Nightmare
