With callous stride and steady hoof
Through rock and rubble glide,
By gap and gully your step still sure
With death we don't collide.
Fly with grace across the fields
Old Pegasus' spirit child,
Above the sun-sprinkled waves that shimmer,
Like diamonds in the wild.
Through rivers rip and old paths tramp
O'er knolls and peaks we roam
And float back down through slants of sky,
In Salento, with you, I'm home.
