Drifting Along The Nile Poem by Sandra Black

Drifting Along The Nile

Rating: 5.0

Drifting along the river Nile
Slow rushed and yet gentle strides
Going with the flow
To see where it begins
Floating along to see if it ends

A cool soft breeze
Plays on my face
I am in no hurry
To increase the pace
Eyes wide open and yet shut

To the worries of the world
And its cares
I am moving totally unawares
Take me with you gentle river
Help ride on your calm back

I promise to stay
Even in the rough outbacks
Promise for evermore now
This heart is sworn to you now
I will sway with thee obey thee

Just say the word
You winding stream
I am beginning to love this dream
Never do I want to wake up
With a scream

Tears flow down my eyes
When you touch my soft insides
I am turning to a soft wobbly mush
A cool delicate delicious slush
Drink me in I pray

I shall have no other
This I can say
There is only one
With whom I'd rather stay
Just you and me together lay

Drifting along the river Nile
Hope the river doesn't bend
At the turnstile
I have held you close
And hugged you tight

We shall cruise
On this ship tonight
Asps and mummys don't scare me
With you I shall
Cross the seven seas

Dreaming about love is good, been in love is even better. Great poem.
