Drown Out Poem by Trevor Dion

Drown Out

As I drown in this lake I could come up

But the violence on the surface

Is too much to bear

The pain in their eyes

Makes me cry

Explosions reach closer

Bodies drop

I sink deeper and deeper

Knowing that they are joining us

As they fall to the sea

Most are dead

Some are left

As the light dims

The darkness inhales us

Know that we are going to rest

I close my eyes

Because I rather be dead

Than go up there

Where there bleeding and screaming

Is too much to bear.
