Drowning Poem by Alice Silvers

Drowning

I am drowning
I wonder when it will end
I hear silence
I see black
I want to be saved
I am drowning

I pretend I can save myself
I feel my body going numb
I touch the water slowly
I worry I will never die
I cry gently, my tears mixing with the water
I am drowning

I understand I will never leave here
I say nothing
I dream I will be found
I try and swim, but I can`t feel my body anymore
I hope they find my body
I am dead
