Drowning In Grey Poem by Lisa Nickle

Drowning In Grey

Rating: 5.0

Drowning in grey
she knew nothing but illusion.
Black and white pictures faded from brilliance.
They stare
as though they know where the rabbit comes from
and maybe they do and just aren’t sharing
but she, she would know.
Know what reality there is to be had
what truth has stood its ground under lies.

Maybe she would ask them
what color Grace is
and where Fortune dances when shes free.
Perhaps they would know how
Time stays but a breath
yet is so long in coming
and certainly they would know
when Purpose pays a visit
certainly

But you see drowning in grey
means to be stuck
stuck somewhere where
there are no absolutes
except that there are always
always secrets to be kept.

And in their gilded card stock
they’ll stay
keeping their secrets
until Fate pushes them away.
