Duality Poem by Dark Ivy

Duality

Rating: 3.5

He lays his head down at night fighting nightmares full of blood.
Images raining down with such momentum, it causes a flood.

It happens so frequently that he believes this is who he's become.
But with the morning sun, he finds new life and reaches for his crumb.

The dichotomy of good and evil rages strong inside the emotional man.
He wants to give up the fight thinking there is nobody who gives a damn.

But stay and look intently upon him, hear the fluttering of his heart.
He's just waiting for someone to come and recognize the piece of art.

He is the subtle colors that hide behind the shadows of black.
He fears discovery and exerts effort to chase the light back.

Disturbed by the unfamiliar, he is leery of what he holds so dear.
He stands wide eyed hoping the words are what he longs to hear.

Whispers from the devil left behind in a place that he didn't belong.
He has accepted the invitation from the angels and rejoices in their song.

Lovely piece of poetry that depicts the triumph of: good over evil; peace over war; liberty over slavery.... well articulated and nicely penned in beautiful rhyme scheme with spiritual insight. Thanks for sharing Ivy. Please read my poem COLOSSAL MISCARRIAGE OF JUSTICE (The death of Christ) .
