Dust In The Wind Poem by Andrus Cassian

Dust In The Wind

What do you think I should do
an open world question to open air
lost in the splendor of how the blue of the sky
doesn't merge with the white of clouds
a distraction from this everyday drama
I'm broken glass, a product of a thrown brick in my direction
and if I can be honest here
sometimes I silently wish for a wish to never come true
my hands cause me pain, this writing causes to much feeling
so please sever my hands at the point
turn me into dust so I can drift with the wind
so her, my antidote to sadness
can stop patiently waiting for my inaction
which won't occur
for I am frozen in time, out of my mind
I am an idiot, don't remind me
forgive me, there's something I can't let go
something worth holding onto
Even after all I've been through
it's right where I left it
but I'm much too far away
I'm lonely and tired
caught between two worlds
as I'm a suspended moon
a gravitational pull I can't overcome
so I just stand covering my ears
silently screaming enough
though there's no one around to hear me
Have I always been this alone
