Dusty Dawn Poem by Ferang Debbarma

Dusty Dawn

A prolonged dusty dawn,
Relentlessly unknown for quite long
Devastated my life up and down.
With intense agony I ask 'But for how long? '

Endured criticism from teacher's & relatives,
Yet never bothered of taking any sedatives.
Perhaps Sports acted as a soothing relief;
Whilst I was going through immense grief.

Unconditional love from parents in tough times,
Supportive siblings whom I owe more than they realize.
And few friends who still believed;
Gave strength to endure this relentless grief.

Joined college with little hope and pray,
Told myself will never ever indulge in fights.
Situations moulded as time passed by;
Felt a little better than school days nights.

Eradicating poverty became my first priority
Was in need of government job desperately.
And appeared for competitive exams quickly
With no surprise I failed everytime very badly.
