Little Girl - Poem by Erica Clary

Who you don't see
Is the little girl trapped inside of me
She ran and hid long ago
She never got the chance to grow
Her peace of mind always in trouble
Her pain increases by double
She tried so hard to do everything right
Wished and wished it would prevent the
Fight
Her hopes and dreamsdiminished with time
Trapped in the invisible box drawn like a mime
She wants out, she begins to shout
No one hears her pleas, her fears... Deaf ears
Sick of the pain she begins to strain
Her only desire
Happiness and smiles
All life throws is more trials
Where does it end?
When does the peace begin?
