Dysfunctional Family Poem by A J Anesko

Dysfunctional Family

Rating: 5.0

Didn't you ever want me?
You said I was the most wanted.
So sure you'd give your life for me...
Family was all you ever dreamed for me...
Universally speaking, you lied.
Never allowing for my truths or needs...
Cowering to all ends.
To think you are a living person.
Inside your mind, you are innocent.
Only demons haunt your pleas.
Nasty ways of living bring me down.
Always with you, the pills, booze, and sex.
Lying to yourself it is only a disease.

Forgive?
Amend your ways and forgive you?
My body and mind remembers you too much.
Innocence taken, body and soul broken...
Long forgotten the little baby girl
Yes...how she cries to be held in your arms.
