Each And Every Day Poem by Deanna Samuels

Each And Every Day

Each and every day these days, appears to merge into the next
Whatever tasks that easily could have been done, even simple text
Easily transitions without worry or stress to following breaking dawn
Appearing as non-urgent to hurry along the outstanding form

Staying at home has now continued for many months on end
Underlyingly, gradually taking a path of a complacent trend
Knowing that whatever admin job was not cleared up from bureau
Would be on list of actions that could be dealt with on the morrow

Even that premise, it can be seen, there is no urgency to decree
Each item in waiting, finally, perhaps, in the end gets its jamboree!
Oddly, those original few months of lockdown was to stay put at home
The reverse demeanor had occurred with what seems today has shown

Being in doors of first eight weeks, jobs put aside for months, even years
Amazingly, started to get done; cupboards cleared out of outdated gear
Wardrobes and drawers tidied up; surplus sent off to needy charity
Paintwork freshened up, closet handles, door knobs tightened, finally

Gardens never had it so good! Owners labored from morn till night
Digging and turning, planting and sowing, beautifying their whole site
Each abode, whether humble or grand, emerged with fresh appearance
Pride felt of time well spent on upgrades, improvements for residence

In this second wave of deep lockdown as Covid spread, had not got better
Staying at home has evolved into normality, stretching now to almost a year
All those long outstanding jobs have been done, very little else to tender
Forging through each day with repetitive agenda; breakfast, lunch and dinner
