Early Birds Poem by Annie Jane

Early Birds

Birdsong
With curtains drawn,
The sky outside
Is black, and warns

Me not to leave,
To stay inside,
Go back to dreams
Where we don't hide.

Although I'm in
An empty bed,
I lie with you
Inside my head.

I fall in love,
And fall asleep,
And waking, know
I'm yours to keep.
