Early September In Yangery Poem by Francis Duggan

Early September In Yangery

The sky at mid morning overcast and grey
And a soft wind is blowing uphill from Gorman's Bay
The black angus calves around their grazing mothers play
And the blackbirds are singing in Yangery today
The countryside green after the recent rain
And the breeding frogs singing in pond and in drain
The warbling of the magpies so pleasant to hear
In early September in Yangery a lovely time of year
In early Spring the weather often overcast and cool
In the coastal lands between Koroitand Warrnambool
But the weather grows a bit warmer by the day
And when Spring comes Summer cannot be far away
The sun hidden behind cloud cover it has rained overnight
But Nature's flowers in the green paddocks make for a beautiful sight.
