Earned His Wings Poem by Jon M. Nelson

Earned His Wings

He's lived a fulfilling Life,
He has seen and done it all.
He proudly served his country,
When Uncle Sam did call.

He always lent a helping hand,
With a smile on his face.
He touched so many lives,
And made the world a better place.

He would talk to random strangers,
Then walk away as a friend.
His compassion for other people,
Was hard to comprehend.

The joy he shared with others,
Was a treasure to behold.
The love was all around him,
When he shared his heart of gold.

Now it's his time to listen,
To the Angels as they sing.
He can now rest in peace,
For He's finally earned his wings.
