Easy-Erasble Poem by Sarah Thomas

Easy-Erasble

Rating: 5.0

Watch the soft pink
rub across the page,
destructive and condemning
but graceful in a way.

It wiped away all previous
ideas, objects and thoughts,
the pencil marks couldn’t stop it
no matter how hard they fought.

It can erase many things;
unkind words, descriptions of fights,
graphic pictures of hurt,
and your “maybes” and “mights”.

You rub the soft pink
across the paper so softly,
almost with a simple ease,
fading out the memories of me.

You may not see the pencil
but the impression is still in the paper,
it takes just the slightest shade
for it all to come back later.
