Echoes Poem by christopher bagley

Echoes

Rating: 5.0

Voices from within Echo distant fears
Far away rumblings creeping
Into the light where once safety reigned
Shadows loom foreboding
Glimpses of nightmares
Long since forgotten
Crimson rivers flowing
Shrieks within the night
Bright lights flashing
Footsteps pounding
Heavy breathing aching muscles
Sweat beading can’t focus
Sounds falling off in the distance
Safe once more
Alone with the echoes

Great piece. Good imagery. 'Alone with the echoes' is such a powerful line, itself. And the interpretation is endless. Thanks for sharing.
