Young spirit, bright and bold,
With life's full tale to unfold.
She races, leaps, and dreams so wide,
While peace and comfort I confide.
Her strength, a river, flows unbound,
My heart seeks quiet, hallowed ground.
A different path, a different quest,
While mine finds solace, gentle rest.
No escape from these four walls,
My love a cage, where hope enthralls.
Dependent now, my spirit frail,
On a heart now closed, beyond the pale.
The fight for 'normal' may subside,
No more to plead, no more to chide.
A silent peace, a dignity,
Perhaps she'll find her own way free.
Alone I stand, a world apart,
No kin, no friends to mend my heart.
This marriage was my only shore,
Now waves of loss crash evermore.
A wrong I did, a heavy cost,
A year of pain, my spirit lost.
But I must rise, and make amends,
Forgive myself, where life transcends.
This life's a loop, I can't erase,
But in my soul, I'll find my space.
To change my days, though walls remain,
And find new sun, through falling rain.
