Ecstasy Of Solitude! Poem by Ruth anthony

Ecstasy Of Solitude!

Rating: 5.0

I wandered through lonely trees
Brimmed with intense joy;
A joy of being my own,
A joy of solitude in my soul.

Assured to sit under the lonely trees
Engrossed in jocund company of a leaf;
Relishing the cold breeze which affects my soul
Delighting in the solitariness of my own.

Forever I wanna be with lonely trees
Possessing the kingdom of isolation;
Amending the feeling of desolation
Which only surrounds with elation

Eventually my heart with pleasure fills
And dances with the rhythm of a falling leaf.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
The main part of poem is the last two lines of 3rd para. We should enjoy our loneliness, its something that makes you feel that you are the queen of your life. Being lonely does not mean that you are depressed or alone. Its all about how much you love yourself and celebrate presence of your own. While writing this poem my heart was filled with pleasure.. I mean, I felt like, I am sitting in the midst of nature and dancing like a peacock in the rain. I cant express my euphoria of being lonely. I guess my this poem will amend the meaning of loneliness.

Lovely depiction of serenity found in life of solitude in natural environment, well articulated and insightfully penned in poetic diction with conviction. Thanks for sharing Ruth. Please read my poem THE OBSESSIVE AGONY OF LUST.
