Egg Donor Poem by Jessica Thomas

Egg Donor

Rating: 4.0

I've never had a female role model
You left before I was off the bottle
It ruined me to know that I wasn't loved
I needed more than anything a mother's hug
Never knowing the woman who gave birth to me
Makes me question what to do and who I'll be
Third person stories might show me truth
If only someone was there for me in my youth
Dad supposedly abused and tried to kill you
Weren't you stupid he did it to your kids too
Never a worry or care in your head about us
You knew first hand the man was vicious
Addiction made you miserable and selfish
I can forgive if you apologize that's a wish
But I won't ever help you, just so you know
I'd like to talk once before you die and go.
