Ek unpadh ke naam
Likha jo khata
Magar padha wo jo na shaki,
Khata le padhawayi kisi se
Lalten ke neche
Mitti ke gaon-ghar ke angan mei
Kahi dur dehat mei!
Wrote I a letter
In the name of an uneducated girl
Which but she could not read it,
Got read it
Under the lantern light
In the muddy courtyard of her village house
In the far country!
