Election Day Poem by Weldon Davis

Election Day

Election day has come and gone
And I didn't get your vote: (
In the bid for the oval office
Of you heart-
I lost by a landslide
Maybe it was all the hate ads
You believed from my opponents
-Or-
You didn't dig my conservative values
I dunno-
Maybe I'll run 4 years from now
Targeting a whole new demographic
With a new running mate
To ensue victory
I could do like the other guys
And make campaign promises
I can't keep
Na.
Come to think of it
I'll probably never win a vote
Like yours
Cause I'm a hopeless romantic
Running on the
Love you forever
Ballot
