Elevator Poem by Jaycee Wilkerson

Elevator

My thoughts
Feel like a
Elevator

I have highs
I have lows
The numbered floors
Are opportunities and doors

The lights on the buttons
Justify something
I dont know what

If all of the buttons
Are lit up
That can be
Too much
Some times
I get stuck
Between floors

The shaft
Is like life its self
Dangerous
Dark
Deep

Everyone is going
To a different floor
Everyone is looking
For the correct door

The true quest
Can only begin
Once you exit
The elevator's doors

Drerams
Are the introductions
To opportunities
If you dont
Get off on your floor
You might miss your
Purpose in this world
