'Please don't quote me'
For then you'll see
Why it is absurd
to use another's words
A line
to define
a life - so scategorical
that you have to go historical
On love lost, or pain
Your saneness or insanity
your apathy and vanity.
A grocery list of feelings
That other people's dealings
are somehow better than your own.
For if all that is ever known
Is other's wisdom and wit
Then your life doesn't mean sh-
Ah, but wait- I digress.
I'm in a bit of a mess-
I found that I'm sounding too wise.
And maybe one day, in someone's eyes,
that the things I spew now might be worth saying.
And I wouldn't mind if they wrote
from me, perhaps a little quote
as long as those folks- they are paying...
