Eloquent Apathy Poem by Twisted Moon

Eloquent Apathy

Rating: 5.0

I see my shadowy silhouette,
As I gaze into your gleaming but gloomy lenses,
And at last I come to my senses,
It's as if I'm seeing you for the first time,
The way the cynical soliloquies of your soul,
Reflect the cyanide serenades of mine,
If only we can stop touching and just feel,
If only we can stop looking and just see that this is real,
But through your empty sighs and hollow cries
And my unlit eyes a veil over apathetic lies,
We are failing,
And the dim light at the end of the tunnel that illimuminates the awakening I desire,
Shows me everything as it vanquishes our fire,
We lay side by side and we stroke eachother's hair,
Such a shame to realize how little we both care,
And when you truly look at what is real,
You see there's nothing there.
