I have a good friend, today
Unlike the others, she vows she'll stay
Skeptic me, doesn't believe her and I only pray
That she isn't green inside and without, grey
She'd come to me upset, but go happy
She'd hurt me sometimes, but cry sadly
When the rays and rains attack, she's my canopy
I only hope she wouldn't end up my sad, sad melody
I have no reasons at all to distrust her. No!
All I know I can't trust her so
I should give her a chance to reach that goal, I know
Of being a true companion, and playing a true friend's role
But if one day she too should, like the others, fly
And leave me while I cry
I promise I shan'tagain try
To tend a garden that is sure to dry

Good poem. Yes only your friend knows your secret and only she can reveal it to devastating effect. So yes leave a little room for human foibles
So glad the poem made sense to you. Thanks!
