Once in a while
The sound of gunshots
In the middle of the night
Remind of the existence of our Creator

Once in a while
The birth of another
Makes us wonder
At the miracle of creation

Once in a while
The verses of The Book
Move us to tears
Eliciting a reassertion of our beliefs

Once in a while
Death reminds us
Oh so clearly
Of our mortality

Once in a while
Bad fortune; bad luck
Shakes the very foundation
Of our faith

Once in a while
The beauty of Nature
Highlights the defects
Of the creation of our hands

Once in a while
We remember
An Omnipotent Power
