Emotional Algebra At Loggerheads Poem by nusrat jahan

Emotional Algebra At Loggerheads

Rating: 5.0

I intently looked at him but he avoided my gaze
Least vexed he was as for him it was just a passing phase
For love needs no season but an exchange of eye
That will melt the heart and make the rest vie.

For a couple of days we kept playing hit and miss
Oft I left my window open in an intentional remiss
With the hope that soon he will take a chance to pry
Into the life of the girl who was living nearby.

Anon came a day when the boy came at his terrace
Sadly I was trying my nephew’s outfit that resembled non-ferrous
Neither he smiled nor frowned at my disastrous disposal
Yet I never saw him again on his terrace so couldn't forward my proposal.

Few months passed by since our last encounter took place
I hesitantly moved on and gave up on this one sided chase
But then he from nowhere showed up at my door step with a smile on his face
In a more embarrassing outfit in which he saw me last time, said ‘here, I rest my case’.

It was a fun to read this poem. A superb good humored poem that beautifully presents, perhaps, love searching encounters. 'For love needs no season but an exchange of eye That will melt the heart and make the rest vie.'...True! The poem has a eye catching title, and a breath taking conclusion, saying, ‘here, I rest my case’. The poem deserves 10/10.
