Empire Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Empire

Empire

Lost fingers, has no palm,
Cat remained, named Iran!

She bridged, connected
The Greece to China!

Vanished old empire,
And Persian children...

Scattered on Mom-Earth
You find them everywhere,
Unhappy, like homeless,
Hearing the nonsense
From worthless states!

I call on the people,
All cultures and genders,
Backgrounds and colors,
In every continent,
If rich or if homeless,
Open eyes, think again.

We, one of old nations
Surely got our lesson,
Learned mankind's treasure
Has been and will remain,
Not in wealth and palace
But in heart, behavior.

Wonder if heard people,
Mainly those in Europe,
In each, every corner,
Include Sweden to Spain,
Netherland, Italy, Britain,
As well as the French,
Soviets and Germans…

My sisters, brothers,
Why are we forgetful?
Why do we play fool?
Is it wealth or greed?
