Empires Poem by Christopher Tye

Empires

Empires

Empires lost in the depths of history,
Misdeeds done in the name of expansionism,
Plundering of treasures just for show,
Independent peoples crushed and enslaved,
Rome grew to large and failed thus for,
Empires of commerce going bankrupt,
So much for mankind's fickle dreams.
