Emptiness echoes in my soul
like inside the shell on a beach shore,
stalking in the broken land of dried grass
with mirage in my eyes, I run
restless in the vast sand dunes,
I ran and ran till I choked on my tears,
lips chapped and face smeared
I look at the red hot sun
setting quiet behind bizarre mountains,
taking light in me with him
knowing not what to do
I close my eyes upon the world
utterly refusing the warmth he left.
