En Route To Paris Poem by Patrick Gavin

En Route To Paris

Rating: 5.0

Can a person
fly over the mountains
and not want to sway in it's trees?

The mountains with their peaks
piercing through the clouds
and skillfully molded rocks
protruding through layers of snow

Funny how the ancient flow
of a waterfall
can make you feel so young

In the hills
In the valleys
In the cold dark caves
I am haunted
I am humbled
I do not know your ways

Can a man
walk by a fruit tree
and not marvel at the leaves?

When the light shines through
drops of water
falling from the sky
The deepest reds
The mocha browns
on a canvas painted white

The most torrential tempests of fury
creates rivers and streams serene

And I do not know your ways

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

Loved your poem "Butterflies Vs Moths" … very innovative, brief and interesting…

Thank you. I'm glad you like it! This is one of my oldest poems. I wrote it as a tribute to all the women who are not 'traditionally beautiful', but in my eyes, very beautiful.
