End These Wars Now Poem by Babatunde Aremu

End These Wars Now

Let's sheath the swords.
Let this earth be calmed for once.
Stop this evil.
Return the armies to the barracks.
Demobilize the brigades.
Withdraw the machine guns from our streets
Quieten these boisterous winds
That's raging all over the globe.
Settle these unnecessary hurly-burly.

Quench these conflagrations
Consuming the strong and the weak.
Let our world be at peace again.
There's nothing to gain from wars.
Stop providing free flesh for vultures as dinner.
War is evil, bestial, consuming, destructive and unprofitable.
It causes irreparable generational loss.
So, let's sheath the swords.
End these wars now.
